Location
Just four blocks from Union Square, the Center is a short walk from the Powell and Montgomery Street BART/Muni stations and is accessible from many major bus lines. Situated on the eastern edge of Yerba Buena Gardens, the Center spans the block between Mission and Howard on Third Street. Next door to the Moscone Convention Center, across the street from SFMOMA and across the Gardens from Metreon, the Center is located in a vibrant new urban neighborhood that boasts world class hotels and restaurants, great shopping and funky galleries and bars as well as abundant and affordable parking.

The main entrance to the Galleries and Forum Building is at 701 Mission at Third, though there are entrances along the Yerba Buena Gardens side as well. Our Theater Building entrance is at 700 Howard Street at Third.

Exit the Montgomery Station on Market Street and walk west (away from the Ferry Building) to Third Street. Cross to the west side of Third and turn left. Walk down the right hand side of Third Street to Mission, cross Mission and turn right, walk a short distance to our front steps at 701 Mission Street.

Exit the Powell Station on Market and walk east (toward the Ferry Building) to Fourth Street, turn right. Walk down Fourth to Mission, crossing to the Metreon. Turn left at the Metreon and walk down Mission to the entrance of the Center at 701 Mission Street.

The train station is located at Fourth and Townsend Streets. The MUNI #15, 30 and 45 busses and the N Judah line take commuters from the train station to YBCA at Third and Mission. (N Judah stops at MUNI/BART Powell or Montgomery stations on Market St.)

Ferries

Ferries run to San Francisco from various locations around the bay. Most ferries disembark at the Ferry Building at the foot of Market Street.

Directions By Car

From the East Bay, take Interstate 80 and exit at Fremont Street. Take a left onto Fremont at the end of the ramp, and another left onto Howard. Turn right on Fifth Street. Follow Fifth to Mission and turn right. Follow Mission to YBCA, between Fourth and Third Streets at Yerba Buena Gardens.

From the South Bay, take Highway 101 north and follow signs for I-80 East. Exit on Fourth Street, which will lead to Bryant. Turn left on Third Street. The Theater is on your left at the intersection of Third and Howard. The Galleries and Forum building is on your left at the intersection of Third and Mission.

From the North Bay, take Highway 101 south to the Lombard Street exit. Follow Lombard to Van Ness, turning right on Van Ness. Follow Van Ness until you reach Golden Gate: turn left. Golden Gate will take you across Market Street onto Sixth Street. Turn left off of Sixth onto Mission. Follow Mission to YBCA, between Fourth and Third Streets at Yerba Buena Gardens.
